Bob Schweizer
Board Secretary and Acting Executive Director
Bob Schweizer serves as Board Secretary and Acting Executive Director for the Missouri State Parks Foundation, bringing a deep personal connection to Missouri’s natural spaces and decades of leadership experience in both the public and private sectors.
Born and raised in Glendale, Bob attended Kirkwood High School and was introduced to the outdoors through Boy Scouts and summer adventures at Camp Zoe—now Echo Bluff State Park—where his mother also attended camp a generation earlier. Her photo remains on display at the park today, and Bob’s family legacy there continues: his cousin’s husband helped build Echo Bluff and served as its first superintendent.
Bob is a U.S. Army veteran who was stationed in Korea and at multiple posts across the United States during his service. After earning his business degree from the University of Missouri–St. Louis, he built a successful career in financial services and technology. He held program leadership roles at A.G. Edwards, Wachovia, and Wells Fargo, where he most recently served as Executive Director overseeing complex regulatory and technology initiatives. He also contributed to major projects at Bayer (Monsanto), Maritz, and Express Scripts.
Civic involvement has always been important to Bob. He previously served on the board of the St. Louis County Parks Foundation, coached youth sports, and volunteered as an adult leader in Scouting. He is a proud member of the Elks and actively volunteers at his church. He and his wife Kay live on Table Rock Lake, where Bob likes to cook for Kay and entertain friends and family. They enjoy boating, hiking Missouri State Parks trails, walking, and CrossFit. They have a blended family of four sons and two daughters-in-law.
Bob’s appreciation for Missouri State Parks runs deep—from the blooms of redbud trees to the call of whip-poor-wills—and he is proud to help steward the treasures that are Missouri State Parks for the enjoyment and inspiration of future generations.
